Historic Race

"New York City Police officer and triathlete Rob Pollastro poses next to nearly 20-feet-high U.S. Presidential bust statues prior to IRONMAN 70.3 Virginia on May 3, 2019 in Croaker, Virginia. The inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Virginia triathlon makes its debut in nearby historic Williamsburg, not far from where these 43 remnants of bankrupted Presidents Park are privately stored."

Without other humans, pictures don't happen.

Having been to Williamsburg, Virginia a few weeks prior for a news assignment to photograph these pictured historic Presidential statues; I knew when I made my return I wanted to take advantage of them again for a sports assignment.

We were making our return for an inaugural Ironman race in Williamsburg.

So with the permission of the landowner, an amazing contact at Ironman, and the willingness of athletes, this portrait session came together perfectly.

Remove any one of them from the equation - and we're left with nothing.

A good reminder that it always takes a team effort - whether it's a portrait session, a regular season game, major event somewhere abroad, or something in-between.
